AI Sandbox (OpenWebUI) for Charles University AI Sandbox is a university platform for working with generative artificial intelligence tools, built as a shared infrastructure for the entire Charles University. The OpenWebUI environment provides a safe and flexible access to large language models (LLMs) and other AI services without the need for individual configuration. The goal isn't a one-time use tool for a specific project, but rather a long-term, well-maintained solution that supports teaching, research and administrative tasks across faculties. Project EVERSE – research software quality and UDPipe As part of the European EVERSE project, we are involved in the development and quality assessment of research software in the field of the Social Sciences and Humanities (SSH). The faculty of Mathematics and Physics at Charles University serves as a developer and administrator of the UDPipe tool and is actively involved in implementing the quality principles defined within the project. Our work involves linking these tools to the EVERSE project. EVERSE is building an ecosystem of tools and methodologies, such as RSQKit (best pracitices and knowledge base), Research Software Quality Indicators (a set of quality indicators), QualityPipelines (automated evaluation of indicators) and Tech Radar (mapping of quality-related tools). Our role is to assess and improve UDPipe based on these indicators, contribute our experience from the SSHOC environment and take part in interconnecting tools, training and infrastructure solutions across the community. 4EU+ Synergy Project - Towards an agentic interdisciplinary platform As part of the 4EU+ Synergy project, backed by the 4EU+ alliance, we are collaborating with our partner universities (Sorbonne Université, the University of Warsaw, and Heidelberg University) on the use of AI agents as the key technology for enabling interdisciplinary research. The project's goal is to implement and deploy large language model (LLM) interfaces for computational infrastructures and to develop the first prototype agent-based environments in the field of quantum physics and biomedicine. The network of partner universities involved in the project also works long-term on the deepening and exchange of knowledge of their RSE teams. More information: 4EU+ Synergy. |
